Magic Scroll is built with your privacy in mind. We do not track you, profile you, or sell your data. This policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.

What We Collect

Local Data (Stored on Your Device)

All personal content you create in Magic Scroll (your song library, custom chord charts, notes, and settings) is stored locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to publish a song to the community library.

Community Song Uploads

When you publish a song to the shared community library, the song content (title, artist, and chord/lyric text) is submitted to our server and stored anonymously. No account, name, email address, or identifying information is associated with your submission. All community submissions receive equal protection and are stored under the same security standards.

We do not store your IP address in connection with song submissions, and we do not use submission data to identify or profile users.

What We Do NOT Collect

- Names, email addresses, or account information

- Device identifiers or advertising IDs

- Location data

- Usage analytics or behavioural tracking

- Crash reports tied to individual users

- Any data from third-party trackers or ad networks

How Your Data Is Used

Local data is used solely to power the app on your device. It is never transmitted to us.

Community submissions are used solely to populate the shared song library for all users. They are not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond making the community library work.

Data Retention and Deletion

All data associated with your use of Magic Scroll (including your entire local library) is permanently deleted when you remove the app from your device. We do not retain local data after uninstallation.

Anonymously submitted community songs remain in the shared library after you uninstall, as they are not linked to your identity and cannot be attributed back to you.

Third-Party Services

Magic Scroll's community library is powered by Supabase, a cloud database provider. Song content submitted to the community library is stored in Supabase's infrastructure. Supabase does not receive any personal information about you — only the anonymous song content itself.

Magic Scroll does not use any advertising networks, analytics platforms, or social media integrations.

Children's Privacy

Magic Scroll does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the app does not collect personal information from any user, it is safe for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the new version will be posted on my website. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
